How to play Mon Tresor?
Mon Tresor is an individual psychology-based educational game, not a therapeutic one. It contains deep thoughts about the value of humans, the importance of recognition, and also specific guidance on encouraging oneself and others. To ensure that children and adolescents gain the necessary appreciation of their own worth, it is intended that adults participate in the game. Take enough time for this.
Since we currently live in a society where destructive criticism, nagging, and discouragement are still widespread, it can be unusual and strange for many people to speak positively about themselves or others. Experience shows that many people need time to be able to accept “the good.” Therefore, it is advisable to play Mon Tresor more often.
What is in the box?
The box of Mon Tresor contains the following items:
- the Board
- six different player meeples that are in the six gem collection boxes
- a dice
- the treasure box with gems
- 60 red cards "let your heart speak"
- 30 orange cards "be happy"
- 30 yellow cards "learn something"
- 30 green cards "do something good"
- a notepad for noting down the "do something good" tasks.
- a pencil
- the instruction booklet
Objective of the Game „Mon Tresor“
Mon Tresor is designed primarily for preventive use and to enhance communication among participants. It is promoted in kindergartens, schools, youth organizations, and senior groups to foster the courage to present and express oneself in front of a group. The game is especially suitable for children and adolescents because it sharpens awareness of the positive aspects and resources in every individual, thereby strengthening self-esteem. It can be a constructive and empowering experience particularly for children who feel excluded or bullied.
Each player is encouraged to become aware of their invaluable resources and to integrate these into their lives for mutual benefit. All participants in Mon Tresor will learn to better understand and appreciate themselves and others. As a result, the sense of community and self-worth among all players is appropriately fostered, and mutual respect grows.
| Blue Arrow: The player who is furthest behind may move their piece to the space in front of yours. This strengthens the sense of community. | |
| A Snail: Skip a turn. Here you have the opportunity to practice patience. | |
| The Footprints: You are on your own way. There is no action to be performed. | |
| If you land on the „Flower / Bouquet“ symbol, you have the opportunity to bring joy to others and be helpful. Take a card from the “Do Something Good” pile and read the question aloud. The good deed you will perform is recorded on paper. This teaches you to keep your word. The card is placed back under the pile after use. | |
| If you land on the “Clown” symbol, your neighbor to the right takes the top card from the “Be Joyful” pile and reads only the task to you aloud. Once you have completed the task, you will hear the text below the line from them. The card is placed back under the pile after use. | |
| If you land on the “Red Heart” symbol, you will be gifted with gemstones. Take a card from the “Let your heart speak” pile and read the question aloud. After you have let your heart speak, you may take as many gemstones from the treasure chest as indicated on the card. Keep these in your treasure box “Mon Tresor.” The card is placed back under the pile after use. | |
If you land on the “Book” symbol, your neighbor to the right will take the top card from the “Learn something” pile and first read the question to you, then the multiple-choice answers aloud. Now it’s your turn to guess.
The insight, represented as a “light bulb,” will be read by the questioner in any case. The card is placed back under the pile after use. |
The game ends when the last player reaches the “Gate to Us” with a direct roll.
